The break is over and I am back on the boat.  It was wonderful to see my mother.  She is still full of spirit.  I took her to the clinic one day so she could have an infusion of iron.  It took 5 hours, and during that time she had a serious hypertension episode at the same time she had to go to the bathroom.  As I waited for her I started to get worried.  A nurse soon came back and told me they had to call an ambulance for her because she was having difficulties.  As the ambulance arrived, I asked that we re-evaluate her because this did not appear to be an unusual episode for her and she did not want to go the hospital.  On re-evaluation, her vitals were good and I asked that she go home with me.  On the way home, and in her own very Betty way, she told me that she learned a valuable lesson that day.  What was that mom?   She simply said, ” Don’t ever take a shit at the clinic”.  Well said mom!

I enjoyed working on her apartment with Jerry, and she celebrated her moving in on the same day she got home from the clinic.  The change was difficult, but she is in a much nicer, much safer place now and she will adjust.  Jerry and Darlene are in the house above, and she has every thing she needs.

After that, I spent a couple of days in New Orleans with a friend.  It was a very nice break and the Bourbon Street experience never gets old… but sadly I have.

I posted a summary Nemo map of March on this page.  With any luck, the previous leg of the trip will have been the most difficult and dangerous.  I will keep you posted every day the boat moves, and a few it does not.  Stay tuned and thanks for following.
