Leave a comment about this day On March 5, 2023, I finished outfitting the boat with food, a dinghy, dinghy motor, bicycle, fuel tanks (30 gallons total), and clothing. And of course Mittie’s ashes and a good cigar. We are truly ready to go.

On Tuesday March 5th, I will finish closing up the house and have our neighbor Kevin Dean take us to the boat at Harbor Walk Marina. We will spend the night on the boat and take off first thing Wednesday morning assuming there is no dense fog. I will head east on the Intercoastal Waterway as far as I can go in the daylight. Our goal is to make it the New Orleans before the 18th. We will then rent a car and visit family in Atlanta for a week or so.

Sounds like a plan. Stay tuned. A friend, the wife of my “love advisor” asked me if I was mentally prepared for this trip. The answer is yes.
