On April 3, 2023 I resumed my adventure with a bang.  My brother Jerry will tell you that I have the ability to turn a simple day into an exhaustive experience .  The beginning of the day went well. I actually was able to put the sail up and save fuel.  I was running at 7 knots under sail, which was what I do under power, only smoother and quieter and no fuel burn.  I reached my intended anchor location by 1:30pm, so I decided to push on.  The only problem was that the wind started to pick up and I was in open water (Mississippi Sound).  There is no protection from the south, and the wind was strong out of the south. The seas were 3 feet.  That does not sound like much, but the waves were so close together that it just beat me and the boat up for three hours.  I finally got into a calmer water near the marina and settled into the St. Louis Bay Marina.  I am now in Mississippi.

Gnarly and I got a shower together and had a nice dinner.  Exhausted, were glad to be back in the boat for the night.

Gnarly finally took care of business and pooped on the deck.  That is something she has avoided  until now.  The boat is truly Gnarly’s Poop Deck.

One last comment.  I left a picture below of New Orleans behind me.  Mobile Bay should be my next big challenge, probably in two days.  I think tomorrow will be a short day.
