It is Saturday, April 15, 2023. I got up early, pulled the anchor and headed out to what appeared to be the perfect morning.  I did run into a little fog in the beginning as I went under the first bridge, but it quickly burned off to become one of the best weather days of the trip.

I was in a great deal of remote territory.  The water was like glass most of the time, and the wildlife greeted me like a friend.  Dolphins played around my boat, and I saw a few manatees pop up for a quick look.  There were very few other boats on the water until I approached Apalachicola.  It was Saturday, and some big time fishing boats were out in tournament mode.  They would fly by me at 60 miles per hour, spot something that looked promising, stopped on a dime, cast, catch, and then on their way.  It was a site to behold.  As a friend said to me, can you believe they actually make a living at that.

There is not a lot of activity to report except it was a wonderful day, until I got to the city of Apalachicola.  The City dock that I counted on was closed for repairs. The wind was kicking up big time, and my radar was showing a thunderstorm closing in.  I called arround to the few marinas still open begging for a spot.  I did get one just as a thunderstorm hit.  Glad I was tucked in.

The only problem is that I am parked outside the most popular bar, and being it is Saturday and there is not a thing else to do in Apalachicola except drink and sing badly, this bar is open until 1am.  I thought open mic night was a killer at the Bluewater Marina.  At least it stopped at 10 pm.

The food was good however.  I had shrimp and grits, and Gnarly had naked wings.  She ate the meat off of 4 of them.  Long day for the both of us, but a good one.
