On Wednesday March 8th,   OMG!   I have set sail and traveled a most wonderous day on my journey.  Although I started out on a very foggy morning, the rest of the day was perfect.  The fog created some barge problems, but I was very lucky and did not get stuck too often behind the long long of barges on the Gulf ICW.  I passed more than 100 barges today.  Most of them were double wide or several containers long.  Each container is 300 feet.

All the barge captains were very nice and helpful.

I blew by my original stop, Stingaree, at 11:15 this morning, but I did not reach my second stop so I had to find a place before dark, and my TCU calls.  I located a private anchorage that is very remote and just off the ICW so the constant barge traffic is not a problem.  Gnarly is fast to sleep.  I am exhausted, but I have some things to do.  I have a couple of student interviews to do, and perhaps I might eat something.  I will post some updated pictures later, and a map of what I did today.  Stay t.
