It is April 12, 2023, and I am waiting to wake up from this dream. I am pretty sure it is a dream because the stories keep getting better and better.
The weather was as expected today. Windy and a constant threat of rain. The real rain should be coming tonight and into tomorrow. With any luck, the low pressure system will push up into the mainland and I will have good weather to proceed on Friday.
Gnarly and I decided to go on a little bike ride in-between rains, and it was lovely even though the picture appears to have my thumbprint on the lens. Sorry about that.
The community continues to astonish me. As we road the bike, I swear it was downhill both ways. This might have been an optical conclusion (yes Jerry, that is what I wanted to write so no need to fix it, but thanks for all your editing help). But, this is an amazing place.
The water is clear, the beach sand is white, and the people are all very friendly.
For those of you who keep asking about how I sleep, very well thank you. I placed a picture below. It looks cramped, and it is, but comfortable.
It started to rain a bit, so Gnarly and I headed to the bar to do some planning. A waitress came out and told me about the special for tonight and I had to get it. The food here is fantastic, and view unbelievable. They have sailboat races every Wednesday in the Bay and I got to watch that as I ate this wonderful meal.
About then a very nice couple came to the bar with a Yorkshire Terrier. I think their names were Pat and Hutch. Gnarly was not impressed with their dog, but they did rub noses.
I had a wonderful visit with both of them. They are sailors and told some interesting stories of past adventures. Most recently Hutch broke is pelvis in Germany Skiing. He is 80. I am impressed and inspired once again by people on this trip. They were nice enough to offer me a car, some navigational documents, and any help I might need. It just keeps getting better and better every day.
